Happy Birthday Mr Brigadeiro!

Today is hubby's birthday, and we started celebrations last Saturday with friends on the beach...frolicking in the sun and waves, enjoying French champagne and nibbling on fresh fruit...it was a perfect way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon, which was followed by a beautiful dinner where we shared several entrees and 'nibbly bits':

Smoked mackerel pate, horseradish snow, beetroot relish, crisp rye bread

House made falafels (made with broad beans - so it was green inside), minted tahini sauce

Coffin Bay 'Valentine' oyster, freshly shucked, mignonette sauce

Kangaroo Island Haloumi, watermelon, mint and shallot dressing

Miso crusted wagyu, coriander pistou, wasabi mayo, pickled mushrooms, soy beans

Ruby summer salad - beetroot, watermelon, rasberry, red cabbage, goats curd, maple dressing

Seared scallops, vichyssoise sponge, smoked ham powder, fried leek, watercress

Kingfish sashimi, shaved mojama, gazpacho vinaigrette, almond oil

My main course: Pork fillet, confit pork belly, apricot stuffing, braised red cabbage, spiced pork crackling

The restaurant had a beautiful view, and the sunset was breathtaking...

I wore the Thakoon SS'08 tie dye coatdress I have been wearing a lot lately (thrice in the last week!)
