The weather here Down Under has suddenly gone warm & humid. A cold change is coming this weekend, although it won't be enough to wear a coat, which is a shame, as they are my favourite things to wear. These ladies make me want to wear coats even more:



How cute is this? The check, the frilled neck, the lace tights, the puffed sleeves, the cute buttons...

Love the volume and shape of this coat, as well as that colour...It looks so classic yet funky at the same time.

I had to repeat this photograph, it is just too gorgeous. The movement of the camel coat (the item to wear this Fall/Autumn/Winter) is just stunning.

Street Style at the Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Weeks - Trench coats

Ah, the Trench Coat. My wardrobe is literally bursting full of coats - Seriously! I have to ask hubby to fix the two wardrobe door hinges that have come undone from the strain the overload is causing); and of the 'coat family', the 'Trench' is my absolute favourite, and most abundant in my coat collection. Funnily, I seem to own a trench in various colours and fabrics, but none in the classic 'trench' colour and classic 'trench' fabric. This is probably due to my love for 'classics with a twist', but must be remedied, no doubt. During the SS'11 Fashion Weeks, it was the outerwear of choice for many:

Classic trench, love the contrasting colour from her shirt/dress rolled out onto the sleeves.

Father's Day Lunch & Alena Akhmadullina Trench

Last Sunday was Father's Day here Down Under, and it was Mr Brigs' first as a dad...We celebrated at our favourite restaurant:

Burberry Prorsum...major coat envy Pt 2 - and Recent Buy: Richard Nicoll

My sister E recently came to visit, and left this stunning Burberry Prorsum (that I have drooled over for years) for me to 'babysit' until she comes back next week for our cousin's wedding. My pictures fail to capture the beauty of this coat...the texture and sheen on it is amazing.

I am incredibly tempted to take it out for a spin with my Richard Nicoll silk dress I recently purchased:


except mine is in this kingfisher blue colour (oh, and the necklace is not part of the dress)...

Apologies for the lack of posts...my little one seems to be extra difficult lately due to teething (although it will probably be months until the tooth actually appears...). Any tips on how to deal with the fussiness/reduced appetite/increasing night wakenings/etc. are most welcome! I have tried teething gel & powder, baby panadol, teething toy (she doesn't take to it), cold damp towel, rubbing a clean finger on her gums, and more...*sigh*

Burberry Shearling...major coat envy

As you all may already know, coats are my absolute favourite pieces of clothing, and even though I love those in my wardrobe, they pale in comparison to those of my sisters, especially my sister E. After 6 years in London, I am ecstatic that she has moved back, so that I finally have a sister living in the same country (not in same city, but a quick flight can fix that). She recently came to visit her little niece, and brought with her some of her favourite coats. This Burberry shearling was too gorgeous for me not to snap some shots of it, although E was not terribly comfortable with me 'paparazzing' her during our outing:

Japan: Tokyo Part 6 -Asakusa & Ginza

Apologies for the slow posts, the lack of replies to your sweet comments, and for not being able to visit your blogs (including my favourite blogs that I so miss visiting - time has been scarce)...I have been busy with my parents (who usually live in Brazil) and sister (who usually lives in London), as well as with finishing up work (yes, WOO HOO!), but hope that I will catch up soon...Thanks for your patience and for still coming to say hello!


Cool art exhibited near Takashimaya in Shinjuku

So I thought I would continue with my Japan trip, and move onto the older districts of Tokyo: Asakusa and Ginza:

Asakusa



I loved the 'Meron-Pan' - a delicious Japanese bakery good with made from an enriched dough covered in a thin layer of crispy cookie dough outside with a delightfully light and fluffy inside...

Whilst resting my feet in a nearby park I spotted this kid who was 'too cool for school', strutting his stuff around the playground just like this...too cute!

Asakusa is beautiful by night as well...I made two trips to this district, the latter trip being later in the day.

My one 'fashion' purchase from Asakusa - a cute kid's quilted kimono jacket - how cute is it?
